Uncover the rise of conspiracy theories targeting Christians, their impact on relationships, and learn pastoral guidelines for addressing this growing issue.

Since COVID-19 there has been a global explosion of organised conspiracy theory chat groups online. Many of these have either been initiated by, or targeted at, Christians. These groups are often anti-government, anti-media or anti-establishment. This presentation acknowledges conspiracies do exist, however, engagement with some of these groups can been alienating, addictive and have disastrous impacts on relationships, families and congregations. The paper will unpack why Christians engage with conspiracy theories, the impact of our online footprint in attracting conspirators and provide guidelines for a pastoral response for those entangled in conspiracy theory agendas.

Join us to learn how to support those affected by conspiracy theories in your congregation.
